I'm hoping the suggestion for all drivers of all EMS apparatus be at least a first responder or have a healthcare provider CPR card.
It's mandatory for our ambulances drivers, but there are some with no training. They just "drive".
Even when I worked in the private field, there were "driver only."
Scary huh?
Imagine being the EMT on that call. Your closest help isn't trained to assist you in CPR.
Your next closest help is medical control on YOUR personal cell phone.
Maybe this new private company will be different. Like every call, I go in with a fresh mind.
I just hope they will give me the chance to shine. Let me suggest things to better the company. I have a lot of knowledge, and I would love to grow within my place of employment.
My last two places of employment did not include the people of street to present their ideas with the office. Threats and fear were the norm.
I want to be a part of the CoEMS movement. We can no longer be "ambulance drivers." We have to become pre-hospital care.
