I call bullshit
I have had my EMT-B for 3 years. I have rode I the back of the ambulance for four years. I have been cleared as an EMT in two states by two other stations. Just not my "home" station.
Tonight I found out and other EMT was cleared to ride without going through the "FTO" program that they recommend for me.
I'm not perfect. I have missed classes, missed shifts. I cannot live at the station like these kids. I have a family, a job, and other responsibilities.
So what does your station do as far as FTOing? Is there a structured program?
